A day on the boat in Milford Haven

Took Time Drifter out from Neyland last week, first time this year after a bit of work on her... Lined the cabin, anti fouling and my first diy engine service. The boat and engine performed perfectly, making 24 kts down the Haven in a lovely calm sea. I went to one of the smaller wrecks in Dale Bay, put a few marks on the sounder/plotter and dropped the anchor. Set up 2 rods, one with a big, whole squid, the other my little 6lb class with tiny 1inch strips of squid on a 2 hook rig. Big baits picked up the usual dogs plus a big fat Huss. The little rod was fun.... Gentle bite, struck into it only to feel the familiar thump thump of an eel! Eventually got it to the surface about 30 ft back from the boat where Mr Eel decided he didn't like the sunshine so screamed off back to his wreck, biting through the snood on the way! Great fun and a great fight! Just doggies then as the wind picked up and I couldn't stay over the wreck so I moved back into the Haven. Loads of dogs again, but also picked up a Thorney and a Hound..... Not a bad first session 馃憤
