Driving back home this afternoon the visabilty improved so stopped at Terally and took this shot. The Isle of Man is looming large on the horizon. Not too sure if that is Ians boat in the picture?

Surely that's the other side of Luce Bay, to see The Isle Of Man I think you'd need to be down nearer the Mull looking South.
Nice weather though. We were down last week and the Bay Was wild. A doggie, wrapped in weed, even landed in our front garden!
Its the Isle of Man ok :) This is the other side of Luce Bay taken from The Clashwhannon caravan park

This one is again of the Isle of Man taken from the end of the Mull

Hi Snatcher, not that important but I'm certain you can't see the Isle Of Man from that bay.
Its not that important as you say but have been photographing over there for years and know my "bits and bobs":)

Check it out next time from the roadside car park at the north end of Terally Bay. While I was there happened to glance at the cottage behind and there was a couple immersed in their garden hot tub enjoying the view/day - luxury :)

May catch ya over there for a pint in the Clash one day. Have a van on the site and am over there at least every other weekend :yeah::yeah:

Hi Snatcher, I'll ask for you next time we're down and we'll get a pint or two in the Clash.
Back to the photos, I'm still sure there's no way you can see the Isle of Man from Terally Bay.
From Terally, looking south, Drummore and Killiness Point stick out further so I reckon you must be looking at The Machars, towards Monreith - unless you have a very, very big ladder.
Catch up sometime over the summer no doubt.

Bryan.

Lets agree to disagree :) not disagreeing with a pint or three in the Clash though

Hold the horses there, forgot I stopped off at the south end of Grinnan Woods on Sunday for a bit banter with a mate of mine.Took these two shots from the same spot.

The first one is over Luce Bay with Whithorn the last land mass on the far right

The second I took from the same spot just turned the camera south towards Cailiness

You can just see the IOM sticking out past Cailiness Point. It is Quite a different shape to the Whithorn/Monreith side. Have I convinced you yet??

Hi Snatcher,
See what you mean from the last photo but I'm still sure the first is the Machars, looks too big and too close blah blah blah...........a pint and one of those huge meals in the Clash followed by a few more pints if I can squeeze them in sounds great.
Not sure when I'm down next, heading up to Appin in just over a week so it'll probably be late July before I get back down. And the weather will probably be sh*t so watch oot.

Was on zoom lens for that shot :) Convinced yet :kissing:

Back over a week on Friday for a full week.:yeah::yeah: Will try and take a few conclusive photos to put this one to bed.:)

If Manxman stumbles over this one in the meanwhile I am sure he will deliver the goods :)

Out boat fishing from Seahouses this Friday so hopefully a report will be posted in the boat section. Can you see the Farne Islands from Seahouses?? :)

Aye, but only on a good clear day, with the sun in the ascent, and the wind going westerly!!!!! :):)

John, I've got pics of IOM from the Scarrs, when you got the new ...(only) boat record 12lb, Huss, remember...does that count ??? :):)

Recall that day well Norrie. Could not believe that huss was still biting its own tail as it was sinking back into the water :)
