Well done on the pb wrasse pinkfoot, I bet it fought well. If you like catching those it might be worth a holiday upto North Wales around Holyhead/ Treaddur bay to lauch your yak. The place is full of them. Good sport drifting over rocky reefs just tapping the bottom with ragworm.
well done pf - there are a lot of species out there that people dont know exist in our waters , my mate crab fishes off overstrand and he has seen basking sharks and sunfish , also ive been out with him and caught red and grey gurnards on white feathers, let the non believers get on with it m8 ,
Hi gf
That's my fifth Norfolk ballan and I've caught them over 3 different marks but I would say they are not as common as in other areas, the reason is lack of suitable habitat. They're confind to wrecks and the really rough flinty ground around here. Another reason is they tend to share these spots with huge numbers of pout which get the bait a lot quicker, usually in about 3 seconds.
There's thousands of pout on the wrecks but the cod seem to have thinned out just lately, or at least on the ones I fish. I guess most anglers are hoping for some autumn bass.
