have been advised to give abbotsbury a go this sunday morning
told to take rag/lug.......for a stray early Plaice.
ok with the rag....fished it b4
any clues on how to best present the Lug......aint used it b4..!!!
do you tip with it,or mount it singly on a 1..2/0 hook
I wos gonna try a 1up1down rig one of each bait x 2 rods..
bein a freshy i just do a friendly 75yard lob in the deep water there.
hoping this will be enough.......
Please tell me if you think i should attack it a bit differnt.
cheers
Gaz ...:)

Treat the lug like you would ragworm, tip with squid or mackerel to keep it on ..... lug are usually very wet when bought and need drying out a bit by rewrapping in dry paper or exposing to the air a bit before using. Don't pepare the chips in anticipation of a plaice, a few will be caught but hundreds of people will be trying. A few early mackerel are about you could try spinning for one to while away the time waiting for a plaice. Loads of dogfish at times here along with spider crabs.... rebait/tie on new hooks frequently.
