Hello everyone! Just a quick report on my days fishing before I got blown off the jetty by the gales!
Started out on North Beach near Consti rocks at bang on low water, stuck it out with fresh rag on size 2's just to see what was about - which was nothing!
Made a move on over to the concrete jetty and bigger hooks/baits to see if there was a bass or maybe a small huss lurking about and on my first cast had the most violent of bites that resulted in this fella!
A new species for the year and a welcome addition to my day!
The wind started to pick up a bit, but so did the fishing and the next few casts in succession all produced the omnipresent dogfish (one was even so kind as to squirt it's "excitement" all over my jacket... )
Anyway, the fishing slowed right down until the peak of high water when I noticed a few wee rattles amongst the movement of the rod tip in the gale. I wound in to find that I had caught my dinner! :victory: (Which is always a bonus as a skint student!)
And another pic in which you can see that it's actually a decent fish of just under the pound! Definitely wasn't an expected fish as there were no pins about.
Anyway, I hope you're all having as much fun as I am on my sessions at the moment and thanks for taking the time to read!
Tight lines,
Stu.
