I think the 'big game' stuff was more intended for boat fishing, prob ok for pier fishing where a big cast is'nt necessary, best thing try it on a field or beach when no one is about, just stick a weight on the end and see how it casts, or ask your local tackle dealer for a look in their abu catalogue, see what the abu description says.
