HI
does anyone know if the abu espirit rod is a good on rough ground such as filey brigg and casts weel any info will help

What kind of blank is the espirit?

If it's an IM8 it's the same as my Conolon it'll handle any kind of ground. I've used mine on rough/very rough/mixed with no problems at all, and it's still almost (scratches) like new.

I think Abu rods are pretty sturdy anyway and they're not like pokers!

You might find the Abu a little tippy for the real rough stuff. A slower through action is IMHO allot better for the rough.

i use the 13ftm version of the esprit and I have used it over broken ground ok, maybe it would be a little tippy for the real rough stuff but not too bad over broken ground.

I have the Abu esprit fine rod but as the other guys say i wouldnt use it over heavy ground m8 not really built for the job
