Hello

I am looking very hard for Adjustable reel seat for my Century Tip

Tornado Ultra light. Since its butt diameter is very low I find it very

difficult to find it. I emailed Century but they do not produce it.

the once out in the market is too bit to fit TT UL.

If there is normal reel seat which will fit it at least I can fix it to be

Adjustable. Please give me some advise if you know where to get it.

does anyone know butt diameter of Zzipex Prymo schyncro?

I find it very difficult to fish with Coaster.

thank you your regard

Butt dia is about 19mm so you should be able to buy a FUJI 20mm reel seat and a suitable stainless jubilee clip to go over the seat http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/22MM-TO-32MM-...ewItemQQimsxZ20080820?IMSfp=TL0808201916r9565
Cut yourself a slot near the fixed end of the reel seat take a small section out so when you put the jubilee clip over the slot and tighten it the seat will grip the rod only downside is you will need a screw driver for adjustment plus side there will be no big coaster handing off your reel seat

The reel seat on the TTld is the same pattern as on their other Rods. I would think the TTld one would fit. Ask Century again if it will fit.

Given the diameter of the rod (which looks similar to a TT LD) I wonder what Century use on the LD? Any views from lads that have one?

the one on the TTLD is a 22, and a bit loose. you can get 22mm adjustable seats on fleabay, fuji also do one with a trigger - hopkins and holloway may have one.

Zziplex Primo Synchro - I ave an older one and a newer one - both have 26.1mm abu griploks on them, hope that helps.

I had this problem with my TTUL

You will need

1 22mm Fuji DPS reel fitting
1 27 mm coaster ( I got a pair of Century ones they look really tidy and I have got 1 spare.)

Unscrew the movable hood, make a cut with a mini hacksaw across the fitting tight to the fixed hood.

Slip on the coaster and make a parallel cut to the first, take off the coaster.

Get a sharp Stanley knife and cut out no more than 1/8" from the centre of the two parallel cuts.

Looking down on the fitting it should look like an H with the cross bar being thicker where the piece of plastic has been removed.

Put the coaster back on followed by the movable hood.

Job done.

Hope this helps, if you are unclear PM me and I'll get my mate to take some pictures of it and post them.

I've done this on mine finishing the bottom of the butt with 3M grip tape and a 22mm Fuji butt cap.

My rod was a problem to use till I did this with the reel falling of at inconvenient times now it's a pleasure to use.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Cheers Dave

Abu grip lock does a 19.2mm should cost around 12-16 quid...if not use coasters but take the butt section to the shop to make sure you get a good fit....if all else fails get a fuji fitting and whip it on

I bought Penn Adjustable Reel seat 20mm Thinking that it will fit the Century Tip Tornado ultra light since its butt diameter is 19.2mm however I had to remove all shrink tube from the rod in order to fit it in. So I realized the the 19.2mm is figure excluding shrink tube. it might have been 22mm to be correct. fishworrier I hope the ABU grip rock 26.1mm will fit my Zziplex Primo Synchro. I wonder if your Rod had shrink tube on you zzipy.

If you use the following link www.century.gb.com/shop.php in the shop and they do 3 sizes of adjustable reel seat 24, 26 and a 28mm one of these will fit.

Hi Lads,
I've noticed all sorts of solutions banded about on this subject but the easy option is a 22mm sliding reel seat which you can buy direct from Century at a price of £15.70.
They are in stock and if you contact a lady called Sue on 0191 4168200 she can take your contact and credit card details and post you one.
They are a little expensive but it's worth having the right piece of kit.
PS. It's nice to see a man that knows the value of a good rod:fishing1:
