Zzippylol and I had a day session by the yacht club between 10.30am and about 7.00pm yesterday.Weather was nice, sea as flat as a pancake and a light wind coming from behind us.Had about 30 small codlets, pin whiting galore, rockling, dabs and an ugly dragon looking thing between us.Bait was Lug,yellowtails, squid and some manky frozen blacks.Quite a few on the beach and the recent storms have made a considerable difference to the shingle, removing it altogether up by the Martello tower.

Fished there myself a few weeks ago and lost countless sets of tackle, was truly gutted as had made a multitude of rigs and bought new spool of leader only to use almost the whole new spool tying on new leaders. Must ave lost a good 8 or 9 rigs in snags on the retrieve. Is it that bad all along there?

Fished a bay there a couple of weeks ago didn't lose any gear, fished the same bay Tuesday lost 2 sets of gear on first 2 casts on the retrieve. Couldn't be bothered to move so used lead lifts, no more lost gear. Think the snags move around after a good blow, also only takes someone to maybe crack off the day before to create a new snag of a lead deep in the clay with a big ball of line anchored to it. On the fishing front I had pretty much the same as Cancel the chips, all small stuff. Think its a case of trying to fish through all the undersize fish at the moment and hoping for something decent to find your bait:thumbs:

Better chance up at the aerials where it's deeper and more tide but seems most east coast cod marks are populated by cod lets at mo.

Didn't get one snag between us the other day, storms must have cleared it up a bit.Have lost tackle there before though, wind in quick and lead lifts normally sort that out.
