Well, I spent last week in Aldeburgh with the Memsahib. I had many fine beers, (re)discovered my liking for cider....and caught numerous whiting and a pouting.

Many thanks to those who offered advice and guiding. Entirely my fault it didn't work out.

Oh.....and damaged a tip ring loading the car. A tackle shop (not in Aldeburgh) compounded the damage by over zealous use of the *** lighter. So I bought a new rod in Saxmundham. So it wasn't all bad.......

By the way. My first time in Suffolk. Loved the place. But not the Adnams absinthe.

Oh....the joys of being advised where not to go. A week after you've been there.

But yes, it was Aspall, among others.

Had a good meal in the Mill the night if our arrival, and a couple of pints on the last night. We were too late for food, so the barmaid shared her takeaway chips with us. Also she took our dog out for a pee, when I was too settled at the bar.

Weirdly, we met a bloke who knew my mum, from 300 odd miles away in Kendal. They worked for a removal firm up there.
