just booked a charter for 8 of us of at amlwch, in start of september,
Looking forward to it,
Does anyone know any info on the area, we are wreck and reef fishing, so dont know how far out we will be going,
Will the tope still be knocking about or spurdogs, smoothhounds, or bass??

Best ask the skipper what he plans for the day and go from there. I have had tope in January off the Lleyn but on very specific deep water marks. Smuts possile but back end of the season for them, spurs in the right spot a definite possibility

Your day's fishing very much depends where the skipper takes you

with who have you booked?
a bloke called roy smith,
the lad who booked it got a hand written letter today, sayin about what to take etc. even as far as bacon/sausage which can be cooked.
so it sounds like a very good charter.
i will report on how it goes

you'll have a good day out with roy, think hes been there since biblical times, his boat is the big red cygnus, centurion. no point me telling you what to take if youve had all the info off him.

You will have a good day out with roy, been fishing with him for the last 15yrs. He gives the magic combination of a good laugh and plenty of fish. Due to the area it is always best to take a range of leads up to 1lb and some black and red jelly worms on flowing traces.
