Some easy fishing to start the year, railings for rod rest and all fish within 5 yards.

Some rudimentary lighting has been added to my fishing spot, I didn't try it out.

No. 11 Bass Boscombe Pier Gar strip on size 6 hook.

The bucket was being blown along the pier by a 25mph wind so no chance of a pic with the fish lying on the card.

Had to keep reminding myself that I fish for pleasure, horrid conditions for fishing..

Swapped the wooll y had for a sun hat, put on my sunglasses and enjoyed a day in the sun on Swanage Pier.

Just 2 fish caught all day but I needed both.

No. 14 Gar.. Float fished, 9' deep, 30 x 5mm gar strip on #8 hook.

No. 15 Dragonet Ragworm on #6 Nordic bend hook.

A great hook, very sharp, fine wire and straightens out to pull free of snags instead of losing rigs.

No. 17 Shore Rockling. West Bay Harbour. Ragworm on size 6 Nordic Bend.

When they are this size you can say it's a shore rockling and not a five bearded before you count the beards.

The colouration is different too.

I had two this evening in a three hour session over high, close up of one slightly smaller.

Plenty of Pout and Five Bearded too.
