They probably will interfere, however, if it was me I would run one at a time and see which one is the best sounder and use it. It could be the plotter/sounder combo or use the plotter and the separate sounder. In either case you could use the other sounder as a backup.

Blueskip: I guess that pretty much sums it up... Due to the technology used now there is very little a service engineer can do with these units. They are pretty much all an lcd, a main PCB and a transducer. The transducer can be replaced reasonably cost effectively but the rest is pretty much a bin job unless the repair is something very simple.

The only solution I can offer is to buy a really expensive one :)
