Are there any books that you consider really useful for the sport or boating in general?

Mr Merritt's book 'Angling Boats' is a good starting point.:clap3:

Thany you, you are very kind. The main reason I wrote it was because there were so few books aimed at us boat owning boat anglers. There are a few of my favourites on http://www.boat-angling.co.uk/32.html if you scroll down a bit, but none are general books they are all specialist about something or other. I found the books on general subjects of boats and fishing to be rather simplistic, so its probably better to go for several books and cover the subjects that interest you in more detail. I particularly like the approach taken in "Hooked on Bass", it really encourages you to try new tactics. Most power boat books are written for cruising or larger boats than we tend to use, but have some good tips. Worth a browse in a good chandlers like Marine SuperStore in Port Solent.

Hiya, I have Nevilles book too, a really informative piece of writing..and one of the best books on the subject I have ever read...

Amongst my collection, two boat books stand out (apart from Nevilles) as being very easy to read, and written by well informed , experienced boatmen.

They are (1) Dinghy Fishing at Sea by Phil Williams and Brian Douglas, and ,tho its now a bit dated, (2)The Small Boat Skippers handbook by Geoff Lewis.

Hope this all helps some :)
