Has anyone caught anything at Mountbatten pier lately. I am very new to the sport and have only caught one fish, but apart from one bass the only fish I've seen caught there have been small Pollock and only three or four of them at that. I've been most weekends for a couple of hours on either side of high tide and there just doesn't seem to be anything happening.

I had a 1lb 8oz flounder there friday night, had a couple of conger to 16lb 2oz a month ago. Its not great fishing down there unless you want the conger. I much prefer west hoe pier as there are some good thornies, pollack and bass to be had.

HI, I've never really rated the place myself but a girl i work with regularly fishes it with her partner and family, A couple of weeks ago she had a 7lb+ wrasse on float fished rag, it was weighed and released on the pier, the only available scales, they only went as far as 7lb, i saw a picture of the fish, it was some wrasse, last week she fished off the pier with her young son, he managed a 4 1/2lb Bass on float fished sandeel, fished right in tight to the edge, the eel was given to him from Tom at tackle and Bait, it was one of some dead ones he was cleaning out of his eel tank, good luck.
