I’ve only just back into fishing after a long long time- corona got me ‘hooked’ again.

I’ve been out a fair bit around Gosport ferry, Gilkicker, millennium bridge, fort on creek. Caught loads of shoal bass, couple of bigger bass, wrasse and a conger but really desperate to try for mackerel.

Any tips? Best places to go? ARE THEY EVEN ABOUT YET?

Would be shore fishing as sadly no boat :-(

Had some yesterday just outside the harbour
Awesome, where did you fish from?. In your experience what would you use? Feathers?

sorry for all the questions- I’ve never tried catching these before but really want to try?

I was out from Gosport on Sunday, tried the forts, the Deans Tail, numerous places on the way out to the Utopia where fish were marking on the sounder but not one single Mackerel, we even left the feathers down all day on our mark, two other boats that went out that day also caught no Mackerel they just ain't here yet :(

Tbh I had tried everywhere before was just lucky. There are very few about...I did see some big shoals of sandeels as well so that at least is encouraging.
