Due to unexpected pregnancy :clap2: my wife and I have changed our hols from Thailand to Marco Island.

Will be taking the telescopic and wondered if anyone may have been before and fished from the shore. I have access to the water from our apartment out the back of North Eagle drive if that helps!!

Don't think will get a chance to get out on a boat.

Cheers

If no one with firsthand experience replies here’s a reasonably comprehensive site covering fishing opportunities on Marco Island - http://www.marco-island-florida.com/fish/home.htm. It might give you a starting point. And there’re also regular fishing reports posted to this link - http://www.floridasportsman.com/4cast/tt/.

Another source that might be of help is the Florida forum on the http://www.tripadvisor.com/ site. I’ve just tried a search using 'Marco Island, fishing' and came up with 22 pages worth of posts. Wade through those or try a new post.

this area is one of floridas best kept secrets,i stayed at matlacha by pine island, which is just up the road from marco.there is a bridge that goes over the pass that has some mega snook, redfish and other sport fish.there are also plenty of charter skiffs which will put you in touch with the tarpon which will be about this time of year.

Thanks for your responses. Am actually really looking forward to this now. Might hire one of the pontoon boats one day as well as from our jetty. It's a great feeling when you just don't honestly know what you are gonna catch! Especially when there are some large fish around. Will let you know how it goes.
