depends on what youre fishing for, if you are midway up the pier, take a look over the edge, if the water is slack you'll see mullet near the top.
The Bass tend to stay near the metal uprights, ( if you catch a fish that splashes, you'll see them come out to look). At the end of the pier, there's bass there too. dont need to cast out, Ive caught them by just putting down one baited rod, whilst attending to another, lot of schoolies, so kiss and release.
Fished there today Will , blown off Monknash due too our glorious summer weather LOL, It was like a WSF meet ,myself, Harlequin, 3 Cardiff lads,cant remember there names, and one lad from Ogmore, 2 x Dogfish, 1x gurnard,SPIDERCRAB BAIT THIEVES, AND geuess what a CODLING !!!!!! YES A CODLING ??? Thank god for our beautiful weather. Curtain rod rain all day, aint seen rain like that since Sennybridge/? It was truthfully a nice summers day !!!!! NOT. LOL
