Morning Gents,

An Arvor 215..... I am wanting to fit an Eberspacher heater on her..
Can I ask if anyone has one fitted on a 215.
If so where have you mounted the unit?
Where have you exhausted the outlet to?
Where is the warm air inlet vented to etc etc..

I had an Eberspacher heater on my old boat and whilst it was a great unti, the noise from it was horrendous...
It sounded like a jet taking off continuously..

Was thinking of finding somewhere in the engine bay to fit it (Soundproofed) and am hoping some of you may have advise for quietest place to put it etc...

Also drilling into the diesel tank...

Would I be able to just cut the fuel line and put a "T" piece join it instead of drilling the tank?
(As the eberspacher takes so little fuel anyway)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Just one of the reasons I so love this forum... :)

Had never heard of Propex before... Read the site, thought looks good...

But thought, heck, thats going to be expensive...

No.. Very reasonable, and will be ordering one before 5pm today..

Huge thanks....

There's an even cheaper way, a Contite Thermex heater, or Plastimo do one, consists of a catalytic burner free standing, heat is given off but impossible to ignite any surrounding matter, they claim you can spray petrol onto it and it will not ignite. Had one in my caravan and they do work, I was unable to light my *** off it, but it still made that lovely noise when I spat at it, old habits die hard.

They look ideal for me, no need to carry Diesel, just a gas tank under the deck. Any idea on price?
Just a safety thought Terry: if you're going to put an LPG tank under the deck, please make sure you vent it properly. LPG is heavier than air and will puddle in the bilges, causing an explosion risk.

Eberspacher make gasoline heaters, they are prefixed 'B' (for Benzin) rather than 'D' (for Diesel)

Thought.........

The diesel 60/40 split.....

If I have a diesel engine (which I do) and I have a heater that uses a different fuel than diesel then the savings are lost on the diesel each time I fill up...

Loved the look of the Propex, and got in touch with the company (Millbrook) as well.... But luckily didnt press a buy it now button yesterday..

Am back deep in thought on this one...

The ease, neatness, and initial cost of the Propex, or the extra cost, extra price, extra noise, extra hassle fitting, but the (safety of diesel) and the savings on the fuel...

As I am going to be doing loads of miles, it is going to have to be the diesel... I can't find any justification not to go that way...

Cheers

There's also a Coleman BlackCat catalytic heater
