Well we had another top day out with the weather being kind with sunny conditions and a reasonable breeze blowing. Only problem was that the grass on the filed has grown and hid a large amount of water that has affectively turned the field at South Barwon reserve into a swamp.

Cold wet feet were the order of the day but we still managed to get a good bit of casting in ,kicking off at mid day as most of us had other matters to deal with first. The turnout wasn't big as well with a number of the regluars being caught up with Family and friends.

Yet another new face came and joined in with young Furkan making the time to come over and get a few hints on casting with his newly acquired 7HT.

( Furkan , Allan and Mick looking on as our resident lefty was casting )

( Luke setting up in front of the Oche )

It was good to see that Furkan quicky got the feel of my Century Tip Tornado lite and was able to post up a very respectable 98 meters ,note that this was his first time ever with an overhead and we look forward to seeing his progression both on the field and down at the beaches during our regular get togethers.

(Luke in mid turn - very bent up rod after getting a few pointers from Lee )

It was good to see Lee Andrews down on the field after a while , and as usual was helping the newer guys with some of the finer points of casting.

( Lee and Luke discussing reel set ups )

Once again it was a very relaxed time and we are all looking forward to the next time ou.

Results are as follows.

Looking forward to seeing more new faces in the future. :D

Ernie ,

The TT sport is one I ordered from the factory and had to wait a while before I got it. In regards to the E1000 , it is one that I shortened myself and not waht I would recommend to anyone unless you are 100% sure that you will be happy with it. I have been building rods for close on 40 years and have numerous rods to play around with.

Based on my size ( 5'6") I find that I cast better with shorter rods and therefore shortened the rod accordingly.
It speeds the rod up as the shorted but has less length to flex through and therefore the power comes in VERY fast on the hit. I prefer this for my casting.

Happy to have you as a club member and will try and get a few of our fish to you , just not sure how people will like them coming through the post:blink:

Regards:thumbs:

Ernie ,

I didn't cast at the Primo Event but did cast at the Wales and Zziplex events last year and was using the full length E1000 . My best cast was 230+ meters at the Zziplex and 237 at the Wales event but I had a disastorous 2nd day in Wales with the bulk of my allotted cast snapping on the hit.

The boys there gave me a BULK spool of Ultima line though as they were sure that I would need it in my future casting endeavours:crazy:
It's come in very handy :victory:

Really liking the shorter sticks
