Hi as with the post below I need some advice with the bracket that I will need b for my auxiliary engine, basically are there any that I should avoid and the best place to get them or just evil bay it.

Go for a decent quality 1 rather than cheap especially if you're planning a heavy aux, there can be a fair bit of leverage with a heavy aux tilted up and bouncing about in a chop, a lightly made bracket is likely to wear quite quickly and become a pain to use when worn.

So I strap mine up with a ratchet strap to stop the bounce.

Hi and thanks, the maximum sized of engine that I will be using the bracket for will be 9Hp. So well within the guide lines set buy the ones shown.

I agree, but that's the manufacturers rating (nothing to do with me). I've got a 5hp on my bracket.

When I did my boat I asked the Outboard Dealer to get me a good one he actually got me one of these well very similar

Trem S/S Auxillary Outboard Bracket, Outboard Brackets | Mailspeed Marine

It is made out of a formed stainless steel plate and it seemed fine but when any pressure was added to the bolts to tighten it up it just folded further in so I had made some nice long bushes and fitted these with new bolts and sourced nylock nuts so now it can be tightened without bending the main frame, and now its fine no wobbles at all and it does exactly what it should.

I have had the aluminium type with the handle but that handle can get in the way.

The strange thing is, the Trem S/S bracket is rated to 10hp, the Trem aluminium bracket is rated to 20hp.

Wasn't suggesting it was anything to do with you mate, just seemed a bit odd?

Thanks' but by the time I went to send him a message it was sold, I have been mad busy trying to run two sites. So I still need one.
