I Know this comes up fairly often and ive read shead loads about technique.... so it should be fun on saturday

one question i have though, what does 'priming' the pump mean..?

ive got a little bottle of washing up liquid/water, so i gather this is to lube the innerds before and during pumping to keep things nice and slippy :whistling

now, ive read some just use plain water to prime.

any pointers? other than buy a fork!

Priming any pump is just a name for the removal of air.

In this case replacing the air and filling with water.

ok, i got one of these pumps in the house, it was GIVEN to me! Ive never used it though cos i dont know how!

I therefore need to know more!

I take it i aim inbetween the blow hole and the depression in the sand, but how far down do i go? how many times do u pump it, where does the worm go? wont primed water just fall out, lol?

really confused, AND is it that much easier than a fork?
