This would be the first step to getting the anti angling lobby off our backs, they try and lump us in with fox hunting, which I know many anglers do not support.

We cannot hope to win any political battle when some people are prepared to use very fine lines, hooks etc to catch fish for money, as the americans would say "its a no brainer"

And despite our own propoganda we all surely know that the vast majority of fish caught in matches end up dead.

I have heard of catch and release, its a pity a lot of clubs dont practice it, I have seen buckets of dead small fish at a regular sunday match in south wales.

I agrre with you trawlers are the problem but we need to get our own house in order, we cant continue to have a go at trawling when many sea fisherman treat their catch so badly.
