Has anyone fished bantham beach before? im trying desperately to break my bass duck and having finally got a night offf from work when the tide is in the evening i fancy giving it ago. I was thinking about chucking lugworm on to the bottom about 50yrds out - and to fish from the part immediately in front of where you walk onto the beach from the carpark - any good? i seem to remember there is a slight dip in the sand there that fills with water on the incoming tide first - creating an island. im going to fish the in-coming tide over night as its going to be packed with kids famillies and surfers during the day now.

any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated!

never fished there (yet), but have seen bass around while out surfing there several times. You might want to try further over towards the rivermouth cos thats where I've seen them.

A bit of swell might help, and you might want to take some live sandeel along if you can get hold of them.

http://facs.scripps.edu/images/euranim.gif is a useful swell forecast and usually pretty accurate.

Bear in mind that this area is a bass nursery and while your not breaking any laws fishing from the beach, its something that you should consider.
