Decided to have a few hours today searching for the elusive Mullet of Barry Dock. After a bit of advice from Richy10rods (thanks mate:thumbs:) I settled on a feeder rod for light ledgering and my 10' spinning rod for the float fishing. I groundbaited with liquidised bread and alternated the hook baits with bread and ragworm. I saw no Mullet of any description but perhaps the weather was a bit dull for them to come on the feed. I didn't blank however catching this Smelt and one small whiting:fishing:

Shame the mullet didnt show for you ,
keep at it you will get one,
And remember...just because you cant see them
doesnt mean theyre not there.
The bigger ones are usually deeper...out of sight.

cheers fella, I'm not disappointed as it's a pleasant, easy place to fish and I will be back for another go.

I was thinking about jumping in with a knife gripped between my teeth and trying to catch them that way:sad:
