<font color='#000000'>Peeler crab, mackerel, lugworm, squid, sandeel...just ask yourself : what are they eating in this area in this part of the year?
<font color='#000080'>From the beaches on the mainland along the solent all the bass have been gorging on spider crabs, if you can get some spider peeler or soft backs use that. Some decent smoothounds will be around on peeler or soft crabs too so hang on to your rod (or it may be the last you see of it)

<font color='#000000'>try live sandeels with a 4ft trace and a 2/0hook it works for me on the pier i get baby bass around 2lb and on the beach under a float is 4lb good luck next time leigh
