Not been into beach casting for very long and have a 12ft Shakespeare Mustang at the moment which is very bouncy (floppy) in big swell.

So I am looking for another rod that is stiffer for large swells and has better casting range and is not too pricey. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi, both these rods are very different but very good, the odessa is softer but can still cast a good distance, hovever can sometimes be a little bouncy as you say. The atlantis however is a mean machine of a rod, super stiff 12.6 or 13.6, it does'nt move in the wind or swell, great for rougher ground but still has a sensitive tip for beach work, I've had rattles from tiny fingerling pout at 150yds plus, a great rod. Odessa you can pick up for around 40 quid whereas the atlantis is more expensive at around the 80 to 100 quid mark.
