What is the best cooler box for my boat?
Need it to keep bait in going out and fish coming back.
Been looking at icy tec
Is there any you guys use and would recommend

I have one of these Chris - Coleman 70Qt Xtreme Hard Cooler

It does a great job but you do need to factor in for the additional weight with ice packs in it!

Hopefully should do better this year with new boat. Was thinking more about around good usable size.
Don't fish for shark. More your average mix bag fish.

Have a look here, I use an igloo 70qt small enough to handle big enough to carry plenty of fish, I used mine on a Warrior Pro-Angler and now on my MF 805

Uvver arf went to Costco the other day and came back with a nice new Igloo coolbox with wheels for my burfday.

Going to be very handy for transporting the ice from car to boat to go in the big onboard cool box then bringing the fish back home.

What are you that confident in catching something worth while eating or are you going to start eating pouting and doggies? We don't have that problem as our Cod eat all the pouting and doggies lol

I had an IceyTec on a Raider and kept it on the bathing platform held there with a Bungy cord so as not to use deck space. Cannot remember what size that was but measure space if you want to do that.

Probably a few nice Turbot, Brill, Plaice and Cooters has asked me to keep a few of those vermin bass for him as he likes to eat the poxy things.

Not trying to cause trouble etec but mr Brit was with me last weekend & just happened to say he has no intention of travelling any further north than his own post code cos its full of half wits & mongrels !!

I think the likeliest thing old ETEC could provide to help fill my new coolbox is a load of old codswallop to be honest. He doesn't actually do any fishing now he's more of a raconteur as you might say. (That's french for bull****ter)

Not my burfday until 2nd of next month but erself was over at Costco with her mate so picked a nice cooler up for me, bless her!! :yucky:

Yes fishing for me at the moment is taking a back seat but not for much longer my degree is nearly complete.

And in answer to the op the best cooler box will be a northern one as it will be full of fish!!!

IMO, Igloo or Icey tek.

You can chuck 5lb box of squid in one without any ice packs and it will still be frozen after 2 days.
Fantastic bits of kit..

Not wishing to disrespect the poster who suggested the coleman... But I have a 60 ltr coleman (Was a gift), and I use it to store plant pots and bbq charcoal in it in the shed... (About all I found it useful for)

Remember also, chuck the blue freezer blocks away as utter useless.. Instead freeze a couple of 2ltr coke bottles filled with water.. The fact the ice is so thick they will outlast the blue packs by day(s)..
