15kg (about 33lb) Power Pro. Über thin, silky and zero memory.

It's imported officially now by Shimano so you should be able to get 150 metres for around about £15.

A lot of people now favoring 15lb - 20lb braid.
These thinner lines cast better and work very well with modern lures.
If you intend to use soft plastics with 3g to 10g lead heads and lures below 25g then I would suggest 15lb.
However if you want to chuck out big dexter type metal lures then use 30lb.
If you want to go "ultra modern"
Look up YKG 8X braid :spiteful:
But it don't come cheap!!
Power pro & Whiplash very popular

At the moment, I'm using 23lb Power Pro with a 4ft 15lb fluorocarbon leader. Thin enough to reduce wind resistance, thick enough to withstand abrasion and strong enough to pull lures out of snags.

Got my eye on the Daiwa Tournament 8-strand so this may change in the near future

another vote for 9kg powerpro, found the lighter line 15lb ish one too light after a few expensve snap offs, can cast with confidence with the 9kg tho.
