Hi all, i'm lazy and i like to sit down, actually it is one thing i am best at! i like to sit down and watch telly, i like to sit down and eat and i think siting down whilst fishing is awesome! especially with beer (i am also VERY good at drinking beer)
i have seen these boxes which can go on your back and you can sit on them but they dont have a back on them and dont really look very comfy!

my mate leant me his chair he uses for carp angling, it is quite big and heavy but very comfy! and i like it a lot, thinking of buying my own and just wondered what you lot use?

cheers!

hi mate,
you buy the box and a backrest conversion, this lets you carry it like a rucksac and it has an extending back rest too.
its actually very comfy to sit on and would recommend it

You can take an armchair, camp bed (I now a guy who takes one) and the kitchen sink if you want. Make your beach buddy a real home from home. Set up a bivvie if you like. But remember you have to carry it, sometimes miles, and in many cases getting on for a quarter mile between low and high water marks. Comfort and convenience will always be a compromise between relaxability and portability. I have an old Team Daiwa seat box that to me offers the ideal combination of storage space and seating comfort, but after a while it becomes uncomfortable slung over one shoulder. Not easy to manage when climbing down slippery clay cliffs. On the other hand the smaller Beta Box with the Breakaway backrest conversion is much easier to carry and almost as comfortable. I find the straps on the conversion a bit short (I am not anorexic), but it's as good a compromise as I have yet found.

I mostly stand... and then i think 'wish id brought the chair' :whistling:

the cheap'o fold up camping chairs from tesco's ect are very comfy, light enough to carry, throw away (recycle centre) once knackered and best of all....

they have a 'beer' holder :yeah:

should be half price, this time of year... paid 2 squid for the last one.

still going strong, when i remember it.

Just the normal fold up camping chairs are great as previously mentioned.Aluminium ones are lighter to carry but the steel ones are stronger. Only problem is, if you're 16 stone like me, be careful when you spot a bite and jump up to grab your rod. The tendency is to hold the arms of the chair and push your self up. BAD MOVE! Snap, the arms break at the the pivot. I've had 3 break in as many years, but now use a slightly heavier steel one, and try to avoid holding the arms whilst getting up, so far so good.Very comfy though, and although I give the ale a miss when fishing, I find my Thermos cup just clips nicely into the cupholder as though it was made for it.

That's it, it's a lightweight tubular frame that attached to the box with some bolts. It seems surprisingly strong, and the adjustable backrest makes it nice to sit on. Not the most comfortable thing on your back, but it's not too bad to carry and it makes walking easier, especially if yuo have to clamber about a bit.
