I've the most success in the swilly over low tide!..depends on the side your fishing from...have taken thornies at every state of tide , day and night .only thing that seems to effect them on the swilly is a east wind.
There's a chance you might hook onto a spurdog. Be careful, they have a spike on they're backs that can give you a sore cut. They flick they're tails up and can be quite accurate. I've been caught out once with one while trying to disgorge the hook, still have the scar. Best way is to lay it down and lightly stand on it to stop it moving. Then take the hook out.Ok. Thank-you.
