:help:

Greetings to the good people of Devon and Cornwall!

I hope you can help a humble (honest! ;) ) Welshman with some advice.

I will be staying very near to Budleigh Salterton and Ladram Bay in particular in the middle of this month, and having never fished the area before, was wondering if someone could let me know what if anything to expect in the area, and what tactics/methods/baits to employ.

Thanks in advance!

Many thanks for taking the time out to reply guys, I really appreciate it!

I will hope to target bass - do you think I would have any success with a lure or is crab the way to go?

thanks again!

Well, we had three sessions and didn't manage anything apart from some weed in close :)

My wife had one bite in the third sesh but missed it, and I had one rattler in the second, and started reeling with alot of wieght on the line. Then it actually took line against nearly a full set drag!!

it managed to get into the rocks and twange went my line!!

it added a bit of excitement though!

BTW- bait at that time was king rag - we also tried sandeels and mackies too!

thanks for the help though - much appreciated...

Unlucky mate - you should come to North Devon next time — we keep all the good fish here, up top!

Glad you got some help but unfortunately we don't seem to have too many members fishing down that way ... not ones reporting catches, anyway!
