I had a few hours drifting about yesterday, dragging rag worm seemed to work well, had 20 or so bass, better size than the usual ones but only 6 keepers. the best was about 4lb. we put them on the bbq when we got home, lovely bit of fish.
Also had a red gurnard, not seen one that far up before, had tubs but not the red ones in the river.

6 barbecue-able Bass from the Blackwater,

Keep it under your hat next time, else the tree huggers will be laying mines all along the river  to stop you going out agin :sneaky2:

I'm a fully signed up tree hugger. It's one of the reasons I started fishing.

Fished a couple of spots on the Blackwater last night. Just schoolies for me. Huge mullets in the shallows though.

Nice fishing btw.

I was drifting from marconi point, back to st lawrence. We had a couple on sabiki type feathers but the rag worm was best.
As for tree hggers, I cant see that anyone of sound mind could object to me catching a few sizeable fish, that go straight onto my bbq. There are that many of the things out there that a cull would probably help.
