Stowford meadows , which is about 4-5 miles from Ilfracombe appears to be Boat friendly as I have seen loads of small boats parked next to tents, also has bingo( not sure if its every night). Agree with previous posts about appledore. Never done watermouth so cannot comment. There are slipways that are hardly used at Lee bay,Barnstaple civic centre and Hele bay , however all high tide slips and are tricky for diffent reasons , I'd stick to appledore if not used to the area.
