Without doubt the best and easiest launch site in east kent is..........

Herne Bay.

just avoid Bank holiday weekends, as it does get mega busy.

you can launch in Dover harbour, but it`s best not attempted untill you have plenty of experience.

Most of the Uk slipways are listed on http://staging.boatlaunch.co.uk/. Not sure if it still applies but all the ones in the Thanet Council area used to be locked. You had to supply a copy of your insurance and a fee to the council to obtain a key.
All the gates to the ramps in Thanet are locked . Thanet councils Water users scheme costs a Tenner as a one off fee. A key is provided on production of your insurance.

Ring me if you want the number to join up.

Dymchurch slipway is free and has no gates. Put your boat on the sand and float off on the rising tide. return on the dropping tide and winch the boat back onto the trailer when it is high and dry - easy.
Harty Ferry into the Swale
Whitstable
Herne Bay
Minnis Bay
Margate possibly
A Tenner to use the Thanet slips is a steal. The insurance might be another matter though.

And if you join Dymchurch SAC , after tuition, you can use the tractor to launch and retrieve. Nice , small friendly club. :)

You can sometimes park near the top of the slip or in the carpark in the middle of Dymchurch (200yds).
You could always look at joining the Varne Boat Club at Greatstone - I am a member there and they have a storage compound and launch vehicles and a bar and social events................
