Took advantage of the good weather & small tide yesterday to have the first proper trip out on Glynn"s Raider PIPPA :1a:
Locked out at 8.30am to a flat sea & proceeded to cruise the 23 miles to our intended mark arriving a little over an hour later
Dropped anchor into the 135ft of water, kettle on & baits in the water.
Action pretty quickly with a steady stream of straps, dogs & Huss around the 10lb mark to me
This continued for me until the tide turned with Glyn however not being able to buy a bite
Fished the now flooding tide for an hour to hour and a half with nothing much to show except for a few dogs so decided to move to a mark off Stout Point in the hope of a Blonde.
Arrived & anchored up to be met by dog city :boxing:
Dogs were coming in 2 at a time as soon as the bait hit the bottom.
I managed 1 small Thorney about 5-6lbs, a couple of straps & lost count of the dogs :wallbash:
After a couple of hours of this decided enough was enough & headed back to the marina getting the 5.15pm lock in.
All in all not a bad day with excellent conditions, a few fish, good company & a good "shake down" for Glynn"s new boat which performed superbly on it"s first proper outing :1a:
