well me catchers and a few others steamed out of Brightlingsea at 8 o'clock on a superb morning, skipper lee took us about ten miles out to hopefully get hold of some bass, smoothies and roker. plagued by doggies from the start a real pain. after a couple of small bass and a few pout we moved at slack water where one guy had a 9lb female roker, returned. but still loads of doggies. moved on again in search of some other fish. a shallow mark but produced the best fishing of the day, i had a 41cm bass a small tope and smoothie catchers hit into a couple of fine smoothies of 8lb, there were some other smoothies, codling and even a gurnard. all in all a good day with plenty of action.
