I have just purchased a 16FT boat and would like to start fishing. I have done shore fishing before so know the basics.

I am looking for a cheapish boat rod and multiplier, how anyone seen any deals on any combos.

Tony tackle Eastbourne does a good deal on ugly sticks with a penn 320gti from £89.00 plus carriage.It may not be cheap ? ! but its a reliable bit of kit that should last you a good while.Glasgow angling or bowlers angling in dagenham do cheap ron thompson combos ,but they are cheap and wouldnt like to say how long they would last.

Try tacklebargains.co.uk, get yourself a solid carbon Fladen slight seconds £50, and a cheapish reel, the rod will do for everthing and the reel can be upgraded as funds permit
