Hi all
Was wondering about people's views:
I have a QS Pilothouse with Mariner 90hp outboard. Nice boat and I have fun fishing from her. Am thinking of upgrading to something that a)copes better with choppier seas b) has a bit more room inside ie a chart table/seating as opposed to just a helm and co-pilot seat. So that family can be a bit more comfortable when we go out and on longer trips.
I really like the Orkney 24 and also the Harley 25. Don't want to go much bigger than 25 feet tops 27 feet. Orkney doesn't seem to have seating, Harley does.
Ideally stern drive or inboard. What other boats do people think fit the bill? Arbvor Jeanneau.
Oh and for family a sea toilet!

Are you buying new or secondhand? I have a Harley 25 so I am biased, but it will be difficult to find a second hand one as there are few about and hold their value well. If you are buying new it is the only one that you can have fitted out exactly the way you want it. Another to consider is a Mitchell 22 from JS Mouldings which looks big but is only 22 feet.

Not sure where you haven't got seating in the Orkney? Drivers seat and passenger opposite with more seating in the cabin forward and more still on the engine box. I guess some have more seating in the main cabin but usually at the expense of cockpit space for fishing. You could maybe add the various Ospreys to your list as they have a bit more seating.

Mine suits the sort of fishing I do down to the ground, sleeps 2 in the V berth very comfortably.
