Fished an hour before LW up for 4 hours. Had my first ray of the season on first cast but only about 3lb, then a little flounder, then nothing!! Good surf but a titchy tide can't have helped. Bait was sandeel & fresh peelers.

Good to read the report John, hopefully, a few more ray will arrive over the next couple of weeks. Can't wait to get up there and give it a go.

Talking to a the shop owner at CHL and he said that the Tope are being caught by the boats, have you caught or have you ever heard of people catching tope off the shore?

I have caught tope at Borth in July/August. 30cm pups!

This has long made me wonder how close in the adults come to give birth. Could be worth a try late June?

Boats certainly getting a few among the myriad doggies!
