My day at Leysdown was cancelled yesterday afternoon when Terry Batt from the charter boat Vicky Emma phoned to see if Malc & me fancied a day out skate fishing today. after thinking about it for a while ( about 3 seconds ) plans were changed.
we fished one of Terrys early skate marks 22 miles from the marina, Not a bad day apart from the F***ing east wind, we ended up with 25 skate (about half of these were returned so that the bloody great danish beam trawler working nearby had something to scoop up ) we also got a nice smoothhound ( summer is coming )& lots of doggies.
Was good to meet an old friend Tim Barratt, Also met Ryan ( WSF forum regular ) Then when we got back to the marina Sam Cox (who i had not seen for years ) another WSF regular, was getting off the boat he was on, they had good day as well.
All our fish came on squid or herring.
Malc was sick.

Hey Baitman,

It was good to meet and fish with both Malc and your good self, great to laugh and share experiences with experienced likeminded anglers.

Was interesting to note that six of us fished all day with two rods each without a crossed line or tangle in sight.

All the best buddy Ryan.

Good to meet you too Ryan. Say hello to rory from me when you see him. Cant help thinking that being sick may have been related to that first cup of coffee. The one made with milk that looked like cottage cheese! Many thanks to baitman for pointing it out to me, just a bit of a sh -t that i hap downed it in one gulp before he told me!

Hi, always nice to fish with good anglers, makes a day out so much easier especially if its windy & the boat is swinging about . look forward to meeting up again, either on boat or beach.
