Currently its still on although I have not had a lot of response for this meet. This could be due to the Widewater match the week before and the England vs Wales meet at Chesil on the same day. It could also be because we are going to be stuck on the breakwater all night and if the fish don't show its going to be a long night.
However its a good way to meet new anglers from this site. Its cheaper and quicker than travelling to Chesil to catch mackeral and the odd dog fish.
we had it for an all nighter one saturday a few weeks ago, all i can say is its a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggg old night!
plenty of fish were caught, mainly dogs and pout, a handful of pups, a codling and a couple of small bass, was expecting more but hey thats fishing i guess!
will book a day during the week next time, bit more sociable !
The meet is on breakwater open night so its open to the public. This way its cheaper than pre-booking the breakwater.
The event is more of a social meet rather than a comp although there is a comp side to it for those who want to take part.
The comp is run on the SAMF fish per species per length and is subject to 5 fish per species each (stops people pout and doggie fishing all night). This way if the fishing is crap then you have a chance to socialise with other members of the WSF.
Also as I have your attention, can you please look at the Widewater meet as if it fished like it did last year your species list will grow.
Its a lovely beach with cheap parking, free breakfast before the comp and its a good laugh.
