fished the upper bristol channel yesterday.
4 anglers fishing 3 down 3 up.
baits used were lug, rag, squid, macky, sand eel and crab.
very few bites resulting in 3 codling 1 pout and 1 tiny conger.
i was fishing at portishead.
i have fished brean a few times but haven't done any better than i do elsewhere.
it's a hell of a walk for little return most of the time.
if you are doing well there perhaps you could spill some of you're secrets.
i would like to catch a ray as i haven't had one from the shore yet.
portishead is not totally sheltered from n.e. but there are a few little bays where you get a bit of cover.
we didn't have any probs sat. the rods sat in the rest nicely all day.
burnham seems to be very hit and miss at the mo but hopefully the eels are going to arrive on the sand shortly.
