headed down brouty ferry the night got their bout 6 thought id try some off my new pollock gear out as never managed out sun due to baby sittin sesh so 3 hours after high tide on the rock the back off the castle fishin 3"rubber shads nd eals crackin few hours to many coalies to cout fish a cast on a light spinin rod great fun had 2 small cod one of wich had big hole in top of its head took pic but on phone no very great but good few hours out as on 12 hours rest o week tight lines neil:)

Sounds like you had fun, fished for the coalies with a carp rod and float which was fun, reckon something like a match rod and light line would be great sport. Well done on your cod too

coalies can be great fun on the light gear mate ,thats good going on the lures from the shore.there were some nice cod out the tay in early october last year ,so you might get some bigger ones on those lures.

was hopin for a wee trout or bass still no had one out tay this year had only 2 tay port last year must have had 20 scoolies the year before hears pic off wi cod that had big hole in its head no verry good good pic was off my phone was mingin chaped it on the head

Well done on you coalie catch not what i would normally say about them lol.But they are good on light gear especially if you hit some of the bigger ones.

Would it be possible to fly fish for them with a clouser minnow or something similar?
burnie i have fished lucky scalp tayport ferry rock stannergate mouth of the dightyeven balmarino with fly rod sandeall nd small fry patterns had loads of colies seatrout even small bass tip tho best fish sinkin line tight lines neil
