I am from exmouth and fish Budleigh regularly, but have only done so the past 3 months or some. It doen't seem to matter where you fish along it, it always produces fish...you catch pouting and whiting on rag, ton's of doggies using squid and sand eel. I have only had a few small bass myself but have seen other anglers catch some very good size ones up to 8lb (park in the car park down from the monument on the hill and walk left and you will see where the river meets the sea about 400 meters walk, which produces rough water and a prime bass spot in my opinion especially in the summer when you come down.
Lug worm seems to be the best bass bait at the moment around here and as a general rule fishing at night produces the best fishing trips. If your coming down to budleigh then Brancombe, Exmouth, Seaton and Beer are all close by and are well worth a try. Hope this helps lads and good luck
