Walking the dog in the Riverside Park at Burnham, alongside the marina today, at approx 10.40 am, I noticed something moving in the water, it turned out to be a large seal, diving and coming up again, I stood and watched and it appeared head and shoulders above the water with a very large fish in it's mouth.
I do not know what species the fish was, but I am guessing a Mullet, due to the location, it was bigger than anything I have ever caught, at a rough guess over 18 inches long.
I have seen seals in the Blackwater and at the Crouch estuary but did not realise that they would enter a marina , especially at relatively low tide, to feed.
