Does anyone know if its safe to launch from the sand opposite the outside slip at Burry Port?

Not sure if the sand is soft or not?

Any feedback would be usefull.

Thanks.

Hi KinWife,

Never actually have I seen it done, but I have seen tyre tracks across the sand to waters edge. Maybe worth walking over it first to make sure?

Today rain & wind SW at about 20 gusting 25knts - could be pretty lumpy.

Cheers - Jack

Kinwife, I was fishing there several weeks ago & a boat launched quite happily at low water across the sand, & there were 2 "solo" 4x4s parked at the low water mark while their occupants shore fished.
I reckon it would be "hairy" with a blow on, or a swell running, if I got "caught" there I think I would anchor off the bouys, & wait for the water to get into the harbour, rather than risk trying to recover on the slip!
It would probably be easier if you had help, to recover in the surf before the water reached the slip?
