Fished from 4:30 ish till just after 8 just Upto and over the top mixed weather on and of but did manage 11 tings not tiny or large and a lone dab .
Used yellows and prawn . one two hook flapper with yellows got 9 ting and dab and up and over on prawn two better ting but not by much did lose two better fish on each on waves around 7 ish but just enjoyed being out again after a huge break from it .
Can't wait to get out there again.

Good effort getting out in the blowy weather. What sort of prawn bait did you use - peeled/unpeeled supermarket king prawns or something different?

Sorry for the late reply not been the best but hey ho ... Was just asda king prawn raw on the reduced 1.50.- 1.70 for 14 prawns per pack just thought I'd give it a punt will give it a few more goes as yet as cheaper than worm or squid... But worm did as expected out fish it by far even when washed out to snot ... But no small fish on prawns so will see in time.

Interesting. I've never had any luck with supermarket sourced baits (prawn or mackerel) other than pork shoulder or cooking bacon which always does well with bass when fishing near area's popular with crabbers.

When I fished Gorleston river mouth, I caught plenty of whiting on raw prawns but it wasn't nearly as good from the beach although I have had smoothhound on them on a couple of sessions.
