Hi guys. Is there water at the barrage at lowtide. I want to call down today but the tides are quite big so u sure if I can fish it from low. Havent got time to fish high today. And I fancied sonewhere comfy.

I think you'll be out of luck as apart from the sluice gates channel there won't be much (if any) water there

Damn. Anyone know an easy spot to fish at low. Got the old fella with me so was hoping to fish off a wall. Or how long into the tide does the water hit the wall

Go to the barrage but walk along the cliffs towards penarth.. low tide at barrage is worse than anything ive seen ... just mud ... water doesnt hit properly till about 2 hrs before high....penarth shore is ok but just means walking up with tide ...

Don't forget the pier at Penarth, you can fish high or low tides there.

Hiya mate I fished Penarth last Sunday fished low to high fished left hand side of the pier on the slipway had a good night loads of small codling only cast about 30 yards

On a high tide you can get a good 4 hours of fishing either side of the tide, however after high tide they open the gates about an hour or two after, dumping tones of fresh water into the sea. This spooks many of the fish and can kill off fishing altogether till the tide comes back in. However, Doesn't affect bass much and they'll stay on the feed.
