I had a similar but not so extreme right hand problem during practice yesterday. I sorted it by actually remembering what Mick told me!

It's probably a dab with orange spots especialy if they are on the brown side of orange.

cant thank you enough mick for a fantastic mornings castings tuition. invaluable information and a top bloke to boot. i noticed a significant increase in distance using the techniques you showed us although not always straight and i will deff be back for more. will be giving zziplex a call about my rod on monday to try and get a model number. it was good to put some faces to names too. see you all on the beach/pier/boat sometime. many thanks. Lukey

Well said Si. Was a great session yesterday, thanks a bunch Mick.

I had my first ever casting lesson a few weeks ago with scast(Simon) and that got me thinking no more overhead thumps.

Our session yesterday, for me, was the next level up in terms of technique and mehanics to really start putting out the distances. For me it was perfect and immediately pushed up my average cast distance. I feel I've learnt enough technique to go out on the field and keep practising and trying to to remember everything you said.

Was also nice to put a few faces to forum names. Good to meet you Geordie si, lukey, spratmeister. Was good to fish with some of you afterwards. Lots of dabs and whiting, some double shots but hardly any keepers, 1 whiting I suppose of decent size. But after 4 blanks at tilbury to the end of last year, great to see the rods rattling again.

Once again thanks Mick for taking out the time.

Thinking of introducing the Olympic gender testing before course is allowed to start, as We are not allowed to be sexist on this site, then the 'cost double' if you are a tranny rule applies!!
(this whole thread is now about to go to the dogs- mods beware!!)

Then you'd better buy a blindfold for that old dear who goes swimming every morning

What You talking about Keith, she's the medical examiner!!!!

I've just had the pleasure of two hours on the beach with Matchmen, Lukey, Spratmeister and Shack.

Mick went through the basics starting with off the ground, an arialised OTG then a beginners pendulum.

Exceedingly beneficial and introduced a much greater understanding to the mechanics of casting. If you spend money on bait, tackle, petrol etc, it is well worth investing a little time and effort with Mick if you are one of the many who would like to cast "that little bit further".

cheers Mick, I very much enjoyed it.
I told u wot to do n u never listened, tut fkin tut Mr Simon, ur only interested in the free lug innit!!!:roll1:

Hats off to Mick, he knows his stuff n can bang a lead or 2, brilliant angler n all can learn a thing or 2 from him in not a long time (dont copy the hairstyle tho, unless ur into retro stuff of course)

Brill offer to take advantage of peeps, not one to let pass ya by!

Nothing whatsoever Mick, i seem to remember a particularly fine example was spied in Dover quite recently, think the capter of the image was either curious badger or loose goose and found its way into a report. Be proud my friend, least u have some hair!

Hi Matchman

I see that you have run a couple of sessions on a Saturday. I would be very interested in coming along to a session if there is another one (27 Feb being the earliest that I could do) otherwise will have to try and take a day off work for a Monday session. Current casting is OTG which is a bit variable - tried pendulum but have lost what little confidence I had in it.
